Monitoring Mortality MULTIPLE UPLOAD
Upload multiple monitoring mortality data in 3 steps:
- Step 1 - Download and fill in the Excel template Monitoring Mortality Excel
- Step 2 - Load the Excel file in the “Multiple Upload Tool”, check for potential errors, correct them in the Excel file and Load the file again.
- Step 3 - Proceed with the multiple upload. Instructions.

Instructions to fill in the Monitoring Mortality Excel template:
- Columns in red are compulsory
- Always use the drop-down menus to select the default cell contents of the corresponding columns.
- You must be registered into the T-MEDNet platform to use the Import Monitoring Mortality tool.
When filling in the Excel file, please check carefully:
- Columns Latitude and longitude must be provided with decimal degrees.
- Column Location. Introduce the name of the monitoring location. By default all locations will be added to My location list in order to facilitate future uploads. You can deselect this option previous to the upload Check example. Be aware that if the location name is already in My locations, the system will detect it and it will assign the records to this location. Please check always that the right spelling of the locations names and do not change the coordinates of the Location in the Excel file always use My locations tool to update the information regarding the Locations.
To avoid potential errors on the spelling and geographic position of your “My locations”, you can download them in an Excel file and copy-paste in the Multiple upload Excel template My locations
- Column Observer. You can add the name of the observer that conducted the survey otherwise the name of the registered user will be added in this field.
- Column Habitat: Main habitat categories.
- Column habitat detail. Subcategories of the corresponding main habitats.
- Column Upper distribution limit. Corresponds the nearest depth to the surface at which the surveyed species is dwelling. Attention this depth must be always shallower or equal to the Survey depth.
- Column Temperature ºC: Intorduce the temperature in ºC registered during the monitoring.
- Column In Reproduction: Introduces if Yes or No.
- Column Species affected: Introduce the name of the specues affected surveyed.
- Column Survey depth Introduce the survey depth.
- Column Non Affected: Introduce the number of colonies displaying less than 10% of injury extent (necrosis, denuded axis and/or epibiosis.
- Column Affected-Denuded: Introduce the number of colonies displaying 10% or more of injury extent of denuded axis or recent necrosis.
- Column Affected-W. Epibiosis: Introduce the number of colonies displaying10% or more of injury extent with epibiosis.
- Column Affected. Denuded + W. Epibiosis: Introduce the number of colonies displaying 10% or more of injury extent with epibiosis and denuded axis or recent necrosis.
- Column Data visibility_ Public/Private: Introduce the status of the data, if it is public or private.
- Column DOI-1: Introduce the DOI data.
- Column project. You can add the reference to the Project that supported the monitoring activities.
- Column Comments: Intoduce any comments that you consider neccessary.
Instructions to use the Multiple upload tool:
- Once you have filled in the Monitoring Mortality Multiple Upload Excel template, Load the file, Check for errors.
- Correct the errors in the Excel file and Load the file again. Once, your have checked and corrected the list of records you can Process the multiple upload.
- To avoid the records duplication, please use the function Clear records when you load the corrected Excel file.
- When the system finalize the multiple upload a message will be prompted informing you about the number of records uploaded in the database.
- Please be aware that Records with errors will not be uploaded.
